Trademark registration

Markydot's registration process

When registering a trademark, there are several things to take into account to ensure that the process is successful and that the trademark is properly protected. We have a clear standard for how we go from examination to the monitoring process.

Varumärke

Review & availability - 48h
It is important to conduct a thorough search to ensure that the trademark is not already in use by another company. A strong brand is one that is distinctive and easily recognizable. It is important to choose a brand that is unique and not similar to existing brands in the same industry.

Application draft - 3 to 5 working days
It is important to classify the goods and services that the trademark will represent. This by choosing the appropriate class(es)  from The Nice classification system.

Application - 3 to 12 months
Each country has different trademark registration requirements, so it is important to be aware of the specific registration requirements for the relevant country or region (PRV in Sweden). This may include filing a description of the trademark, providing evidence of use, or paying registration fees. The application is assessed by the corresponding Intellectual Property Office (IPO), published for potential objections and approved.

Enforcement - 10 years of registration
A registered trademark provides legal protection against infringement, but it is the trademark owner's responsibility to monitor and enforce their trademark rights, Markydot takes care of this responsibility.
